Description
Our standard 3” wide cut using fine finished leather in a range of shades. With no buckle or hardware to damage a fine instrument, Millington straps also feature our trademark teardrop button holes for ease of fastening and increased security.
These dual-thickness straps are made for general purpose applications and feature pleasing milled (lightly pebbled) finish in full-grain Ox hide on top which produced probably our most comfortable product on the shoulder. This is teamed with our standard fawn suede lining for good grip on the shoulder. These are among our most popular lines, perhaps due to the level of comfort they provide without softening due to long-service. Suede-lined straps are particularly good for helping to balance head-heavy instruments.
All of the leathers we use are purposely selected for the job, based on decades of industry knowledge.
Advisory Note on suede
Suede is made in the tannery by an abrasive process that sometimes leaves micro-fine leather fibres in the nap that can rub colour off on to clothing, resulting in some colour transfer, especially to pale coloured garments – it is an intrinsic quality of suede and while we attempt to minimise this by buying raw materials from only the best sources, we do not accept responsibility for damage to clothing due to colour transfer that may not wash-out. We would advise the wearing of dark colours when using these straps.
Steve Purcell –
Worked with John and his team to create a one off strap containing embroidery of bands that have inspired my playing. I must say that John was a pleasure to deal with – great communication throughout the whole process with plenty of opportunity for input along the way. And the finished product??? Absolutely amazing. Very comfortable strap. Appears extremely hard wearing and the embroidery turned out better than I had hoped for, given the fairly complex nature of what I was asking the guys to do. Thoroughly recommend anyone thinking of a bespoke strap to get in touch with John.
