Bucking our own trend and not conforming to our usual strap width of 3”, the Gembling offers sound support at a just over 2 and 1/16 inches (53mm) wide. It is constructed from sturdy grain leather links and can easily be adjusted for length by taking out individual links or indeed adding some more to suit. This could make it particularly suitable for younger players, expecting to grow as they play. Due to the construction, the strap has a little stretch (bounce) to keep mobile players comfortable with the weight of their instrument and not having a suede lining on the back might be seen by many players as a benefit too – especially if they are used to their guitar strap moving easily over clothing. Length as standard (without the weight of an instrument, measured hole to hole) is 135cm, but with a heavier instrument could easily stretch to 140cm. Additional links can be purchased too, so you can make it whatever length you like! With a bit of a retro vibe about it, everything slots together in a funky kind of ‘60s / ‘70s sort of way.
